We heard the heartbeat!!!

And yes, there's just one heartbeat - for those of you who've been saying triplets!!! You know who you are :) It was so awesome! The nurse said she thought it was around 170. There's an old wives tale saying you can tell the gender by the heartbeat. Although, I've heard conflicting things. Either it's faster if it's a girl or it's faster if it's a boy. So, who knows? We'll just have to wait a few more weeks I guess :) The doctor seems pretty confident she can tell the gender at 18 weeks. So, just a couple more months! There's some other old wives tales I'm going to try out over the next few weeks. Maybe it'll help pass the time :)

We're still completely clueless on names. We've got a few in mind for a girl, but are having some trouble with boy names. It is so hard deciding! I'll like one that Jon doesn't like, or vice versa. Poor little baby may be stuck with Jondice if we can't ever decide! haha.

Congratulations!! I havn't gotten to tell you that yet. We're so happy for you guys! The old wives tale is that the heartbeat is faster for girls, and slower for boys. It was true for us, and is generally true from working on the labor and delivery floor! How are you feeling? I hope you're doing well! Being a mom is indescribable and the love you feel now for Jon will just multiply once you have the baby. :) You've got lots to look foward to!

I hate to break it to you, but the fact that you heard one only provoked you-know-who to say that the other one(s) are hiding! He's convinced that since it was so easy to find there is another one somewhere and will continue the teasing until you actually have this child.....I'm sorry, but there is nothing I can do ;-)

I love you Candice, and I'm so excited you heard the loud, "girlish" heartbeat. It's a wonderful time and you look great!

Candice,
When are you going to try the drano test? I want to know how that turns out. By the way, who are these "old wives" anyway and how do they come up with ideas like peeing in a cup of drano to see if it turns a certain color for a girl or boy? Hope you take the test soon and let us know how it turns out!
