Big Blue has arrived....

So, Jon and I decided to go out and buy a big ugly blue pool. This eyesore is right smack dab in the middle of our backyard - but we LOVE it! It even puts a nice blue tint in our living room, but hey - that's what curtains are for....

Today was our first day to enjoy swimming and beating the heat. We learned a few lessons getting it set up (ie, the ground needs to be PERFECTLY level), but nothing too drastic.

Sam seems to enjoy it - at least once he figured out that swimming is fun :) He had a confused look on his face for quite a while. Looking forward to a summer full of fun!

Our weekend trip to Texas

Here's is a picture of my adorable little niece that I got to hold this past weekend. She was born May 24th and weighed 7lbs 14oz. I love her so much already!

We had a great weekend with the family in Texas. We cooked out at my sister and BIL's house and visited with my family. Sam got to see Taylor for the first time, and play with his buddy Cody (my cousin's little boy). He also got to go on a couple of "mule" rides with Grandpa and Marma. My brother Reagan and his girlfriend Courtney have a new puppy named Ryder that Sam just LOVED. It was just his size! Here are a few pics from the trip. I didn't take many, because Sam is on the move constantly now....but here's some :)

Ok - it seems like just the other day, we were SO excited that Sam rolled over. Now - we just can't stop this little guy!!! He's crawling everywhere! And, this is what we walked in to see this afternoon....

Just yesterday, he figured out how to pull himself up to standing, and that's all he's been doing since. FYI - we lowered the crib just now to as low as it'll go....we'll probably be investing in a crib tent soon, because I can already tell he's gonna be a climber....

who needs toys???

Sam is most interested in anything that is NOT a toy these days. Remote controls, Barkley's crate, air vents, the space between our laminate floor and the sliding glass door that we really need to cover soon, calculators, cell phones, and most of all.......the keyboard. Thanks to Daddy - he now has his own. Enjoy!



(And, no - Barkley isn't ALWAYS in his crate whining. lol.)

money saving momma!

I'm just gonna give myself a little pat on the back :)

In talking about being more wise about our spending, clipping coupons, etc - I just have to brag about my deals this weekend. I went to CVS, and took advantage of some of their Extra Care bucks deals...combined w/coupons, etc. I got $134.31 worth of stuff for $45.23!!!! Toilet paper, soap, makeup, diapers, wipes, miscellaneous other items we use on a regular basis.....

There's nothing like a hobby that doesn't cost anything, AND actually saves you money!

I love this picture. My grandma(left) and Memaw(right) - back in the day. Checking out their baskets of Easter eggs! I guess this goes to show you that even in old age, you can still have a little fun :)

These two sweet little ladies have been such a blessing on my life as well as countless others. They will be missed dearly this Easter, but have both gone to be with our Saviour and will celebrate with HIM! There is nothing greater.

Ramblings....

Ok, so someone flipped me off on my way to work today (an older lady in the passenger seat of a Lexus). Not even sure why, except maybe she was upset I was going my usual 5 over the speed limit and she wanted to go 30 over? Who knows. What a way to start off the morning!

A few of us at work have started couponing and I'm saving a TON of money - on things I buy on a regular basis. In past, I've tried couponing, but always end up buying things I normally wouldn't - resulting in spending more than I intend :) Now that I am understanding how to work the sales, etc - I am actually a bit upset with myself that I didn't start this sooner! It's extra work, but the savings has been worth it so far. I've got some favorite couponing blogs I enjoy reading on the right-hand side of my blog - if you're interested in checking it out.
