Sam's as big as a Chinese Cabbage???

Awww - my little chinese cabbage.....

What the heck? Where do they come up with these vegetables?

I subscribe to an email that gives me weekly updates on Sam and his growth through babycenter.com. It's a great service and I love getting the fun updates. However, they come up with the weirdest fruits and vegetables to compare his size to! Let's just go over a few:

At 4 weeks, he was the size of a poppy seed. Ok, understandable. He's small - very small.

At 10 weeks, he was the size of a kumquat.

At 11 weeks - a fig. A FIG?!?!?

Then his size goes from a lime, to a medium shrimp, then to a lemon over the next few weeks. Hmmm......shrimp??? Did he somehow shrink and then grow again that week?

At 25 weeks - he was the size of a rutabaga. Yea. Ok.

At 26 weeks - he was the size of an English hothouse cucumber. Not just a cucumber, but an English hothouse one?
At 32 weeks - he will be the size of a large jicama???

At 37 weeks - he's the size of a Swiss chard - ok...I'm scared.

But, alas - at full-term (40 weeks), he will be the size of a pumpkin. NOW I'M SCARED! A pumpkin??

However, as long as I can get through week 33 before going into labor - because this is something I would not want to endure....delivering a pineapple...OUCH!

This is hysterical! I totally don't get where they come up with the sizes. The pineapple makes me cringe. Ouch!!!
