10 weeks and counting!

Jon and I are expecting our first baby - estimated arrival date, September 25th, 2008! Some of my friends have blogs, and I thought this is a perfect way to keep our family and friends updated with what's going on in the Mason household!

We couldn't be happier! Our family is growing and we just can't wait to meet the little tyke.

Just to catch you up on the past 10 weeks:

We found out Saturday, January 12th. My family was coming in from Texas that next weekend - so we decided to wait and tell them in person. Jon's family was getting together on the 16th for dinner, so we told them that night. Jon just blurted out "so, did Candice tell you she's pregnant???". They all just sat there with a confused look on their faces and looked at me and I was like "yes, it's true!". They were all so excited!!! My family reacted the same way - disbelief! Mom made me show her the 4 or 5 pregnancy tests I took before she believed me. Then she said "I just knew you were pregnant!". Our families are so excited for us and have been absolutely wonderful!

I started feeling the morning, noon, and evening sickness around 6 weeks. I prided myself on the fact that I hadn't thrown up yet....until 8 weeks. At 8 weeks, I ended up getting an upper respiratory infection that kicked my rear end! It is no fun being sick and not being able to take any really good drugs to feel better! For about 4 days, all I could keep down were banana cream popsicles - I ate nearly 3 boxes!!! Jon was a blessing though! He cleaned the house, did the laundry, catered to my every need! What a good husband!

Now, at 10 weeks, I am feeling much better. I still have slight nausea on occasion. I am usually in bed at 8pm, asleep by 9pm. And, I am up 3 or 4 times at night to pee. We have our third doctor appt on March 5th. We will finally get to hear the heartbeat. I am still amazed at this little blessing growing in my belly....
